Penta was founded in 1907 to produce an engine
sailor, the B1. Volvo bought Penta in 1935 which became
the Volvo Penta subsidiary. Volvo Penta is present in
the world, with a network of 4,000 resellers.
Its range of diesel or petrol engines extends
from 10 to 1000 HP. In recent years, the company
launched a new propulsion system with
forward-facing thrusters running
in traction: the IPS, operated by a joystick.
