Ford UK developed, from the 1970s,
a so-called 27xx diesel engine base
(2701 to 2715 and 2722, including
Nauticat 2712, 2714, 2715).
This database appears to be codenamed
dorset and was used in tractors
(Holland, North Holland, New Holland,
and others). Passed in the USA it takes
the designation Ford Lehman then
Lehman Sabre with models that become
4D254 (because 254 cubic inches) and
(probably) 6D380
